****01/11/11 - VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE - DATE CHANGE****

At our Gary, In. citywide reunion committee meeting on Saturday, committee members from all 5 schools expressed concern over the responses being received from classmates about having the reunion on Fourth of July weekend. Therefore, the committee has decided to change the date of the reunion to the same weekend we used five years ago for our 20 year reunion, 3rd weekend in August. Effective immediately all of our plans are being modified to reflect this change. We are working diligently to get a reunion registration packet with an itinerary out by next weekend.

Our 25th Year Citywide Reunion will now be held during the weekend of Friday, August 19th - Sunday, August 21st.

RE: Initial Deposit for Citywide 25 Year Class Reunion (August 19–21, 2011)

After polling many of you regarding your interest in having another Class of 1986 Citywide Reunion for our 25th Year, the majority responded favorably to this idea. Those who attended in 2006 are still talking about the wonderful time they had and each were left with great memories that will last a lifetime. Those of you who missed out have already verbally expressed your commitment to participate this time around and not be left behind.

This is to let you know that your school’s representatives are working very hard on your behalf to plan an even more exciting weekend than before, but we need your help and financial support to move forward. The committee is requesting that you submit an initial deposit of $50 per person to guarantee your spot and show your commitment to participating in our 25 Year Class Reunion.

Initially, we are planning to reserve the Odyssey Cruise Line at Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois which is the largest vessel available. It holds a maximum of 600 people, and we need a 25% deposit of $9,150 to secure the entire boat for Friday evening. With all of the activities that occur in Chicago during the Fourth of July Weekend, it is imperative that we secure this venue as soon as possible. Keeping that in mind, we are asking that you submit your initial deposit of $50 no later than Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

Over the next year, we are planning many fundraising activities to offset the costs for the total weekend package. It is our hope that we could keep your payment similar to what was offered in 2006 even in the midst of rising costs everywhere. Through e-mails, social networking sites, flyers and word of mouth, you will be kept informed of all activities and plans. We do ask that you offer any suggestions you have to your school’s representatives so that your voice may be heard. Please make sure your committee has your updated contact information so that you will not miss out on anything.

Your $50 payment can be made in the form of cash, money order or cashier’s check (please do not send personal checks). To send your deposit or get more information, please contact your school's class reunion committee representative:
