#Chicago 1/16: March Against Poverty and For Equality and Panel Discussion- Honoring MLK

We will start at the First Unitarian Church with a short rally and then march through the Hyde Park, Woodlawn, and Washington Park neighborhoods.
After the march, we will head back to the church for warm refreshments (coffee, tea, hot choclate) followed by a panel discussion consisting of people with knowledge of the issues involved with poverty and equality. The discussion will start at 2:30 p.m.
The panelists are:
Andres Zayas
Sargeant in the Chicago Police Dept., Member of the NAVY, international perspective on poverty.
Ingrid Wallace
Director of STOP, a program through Partners in Community Building that is working on mobilizing seniors to fight poverty and gentrifications. She also does leadership and corporate training.
Dr. Jill Murray
Teaches at DePaul University in their Master's of Social Work Program. She is also a co-founder of ChiSPAN, an organization working toward making healthcare a human right.
Dan Bassill
Director of Cabrini Connections, a tutoring/mentoring program, and
Tutor/Mentor Connections which offers a vast amount of resources to anyone interested in tutoring/mentoring.
Erma Davis-Williams
Director of the Seniors Crossroads program through the Centers for New
Horizons which helps seniors in the Bronzeville and surrounding
neighborhoods stay in their homes, as well as many other services.
We know it will be cold outside, but we are asking that you sacrifice your warmth for an hour or so for those that struggle every day just to survive!
