NEW YORK CASTING CALL

Seeking 2 African American females and 3 African American males for “Mating Dance of the Scarlet Honeyeater” and “It’s In His Kiss”, two plays that will be a part of the Where Eagles Dare Short Play Festival. Where Eagles Dare is a venue located at 347 West 36th Street.

Danielle Jackson – mid-late 30’s, confident, dark-skinned and curvaceous, sharp and witty, but with an edge and down-home sensibility, a judge who remembers where she came from, protective, smarter than she appears

Malik Jackson – mid-late 30’s, light-skinned, Danielle’s twin brother, the clown and life of the party, professor of Art History

Bernadette – mid 30’s, strong and opinionated, an attorney, she is less guarded of her vulnerability

Christian – early-mid 30’s, bi-racial, former pro basketball player, quiet, measured, intense, very masculine, lives in the gym, archetypal Alpha male, highly intelligent but with a visible street edge

Barry – early 40’s, Mr. Mellow, former collegiate athlete (football), still has the body which is a source of pride, Wall Street executive, guarded with even his closest friends, proverbial best friend to all

Auditions are by appointment and will be: Sunday, December 13th at 2p at Champion Studios, 257 W39th St, 14th floor, New York , NY 10018. Call-backs will immediately follow. Actors should prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues no longer than two minutes. Please provide two headshots at the audition.
