Members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., the Alpha Kappa Kappa chapter, and the members of IU Dons Inc. will join forces to collect for the needy on Nov. 25 at three Gary stores. The Omega's will be stationed at Save More, at Ninth and Broadway; Fresh County Market, at 25th and Grant Street and the Dons will collect in Valu-Mart on West 15th Avenue. The goal is to collect 300,000 pennies, or $3,000. Proceeds will be used to provide clothes, food and toys to those in need during the Christmas season. Recipients will be identified by social workers in Gary schools.
