6 Lounges in Chicago that Cater to Black People!!!
Since I was getting so many people asking me about Lounges in Chicago that Cater to Black People, it only made sense to put together a few spots that are on point in Chicago, now these are in no particular order as I polled some of my friends and used some of my insight and experience. I would like to thank Che, Kyle and Tyuan for their help on this as well.
1. The New Dating Game -South Side
8926 S Stony Island Ave
Chicago, IL 60617-2813

What they say...
The New Dating Game oozes style,... - EK
The Scene
It ain't called the Dating Game for nothin', folks. If you arrive alone, wait a few minutes--someone is sure to seek you out. The large sunken, island bar is perfect for scoping, and the bartenders deftly help break the ice for lonely hearts. The Dating Game aims for class, with rich colors, mirrored walls, dim lighting and two top-shelf-stocked bars. Elegant blue and gold drapes close to create a world away from drab Stony Island Drive. The cozy dance floor fills up late with experienced steppers, the DJ kicks up the energy, and bar seats go fast.
The Draw
Down-to-earth food is heavy on the battered and fried variety. Reasonably priced catfish, perch, popcorn shrimp and hot wings all come with fries. Attractive, silk-vested bartenders make a smooth Cosmopolitan and happily dress up any drink with whipped cream--like the popular strawberry daiquiri's. Prices aren't cheap, but your cover charge gets you a dollar off your first drink. Upon entering, photos of Aretha Franklin and Miles Davis set the tone for genuine soul. The DJ mixes it up focusing on crowd-pleasing dance beats that gets steppers steppin'. On Sunday nights, live jazz takes over.

I love this place! Have been to M Lounge a few times- the warm atmosphere and great martinis keep me coming back for more. Great live jazz on Wednesdays and a great place to meet people on the weekends.
3. Ja' Grill Restaurant & Lounge -Lincoln Park

What they say...
Authentic Jamaican cuisine in Lincoln In Short --Locals can save the plane ticket, settle into a copper-y table and--eyes closed, ears tuned to reggae--imagine being where palm trees sway at this Jamaican restaurant and lounge. A large Marley mural--not to mention a menu of jerk classics, whole king fish and curry--drives the point home. After meals, visitors can head to the basement-level lounge or bar in back for more Red Stripes and rum punch.
4. Cuatro -South Loop
2030 S Wabash Ave
Chicago, IL 60616-1709
(312) 842-8856

What they Say...
Not only is Cuatro situated in one of the best locations in Chicago, the atmosphere yields lots of light and room to prepare yourself for the best drinks and exquisite cuisine Chicago has to offer. If your pallet yearns for lots of different flavors, then you've come to right place. From sweet to savory to spicy, Cuatro has it. In addition, the service is great. Not to mention, the live music if you come at brunch or a night in which the band plays on. Try their chicken (with the spicy sauce) if you like it spicy along with some spicy ketchup for the fries. Don't skimp on this place. You'd be missing a true part of Chicago if you did.
5. Blu 47 -South Side
4655 S King Dr
Chicago, IL
60653-4138
(773) 536-6000
(773) 538-4104
What they say...
Great ambiance. Live jazz. Dress to impress. Enjoy socializing, eating and drinking. I love the environment. It's small and intimate, but the food (which was the main reason I was there) was not the greatest. The menu is small, and there wasn't much for me to choose from that looked appetizing. For the price tag and the environment, the menu is overrated.
6. Tantrum -South Loop
1023 S State St
Chicago, IL 60605-2221
(312) 939-9160
What they say...
Don't worry -- you won't see folks pitching a fit at this stylish South Loop bar. (The owners came up with the name after being pushed to the limit of their patience while trying to get their liquor license.) Located in the heart of the booming South Loop, it's a good destination for anyone staying in a Loop hotel and searching for a casually cool cocktail lounge. The centerpiece of the spacious, airy main room is a long mahogany bar. Sip the signature Tantrum martini (Stoli orange mixed with orange juice), and enjoy a civilized conversation -- the pleasantly diverse jukebox pumps out everything from smooth jazz to rap metal, but never at an ear-shattering volume, which is just how the hip, professional crowd likes it.
