What are your favorite memories from Roosevelt?
I remember knowing that because I lived on the border that I would be able to go to Roosevelt...
I remember running out on the baseball field for the first time with those Black and Gold Uni's
I remember being in Houston, Tx after graduation from Roosevelt and someone I was talking to said...where are you from, I said Gary, they said Did you go to Roosevelt, and get this that person was a Houston native...
Everywhere I have been in this world, and when I say I am from Gary, In...they quickly say ...did you go to Roosevelt, not any other school...that made me feel proud of the fact that I am RHS graduate C/O 1990.
Just thinking that could be a huge networking tool...just knowing that the person you are talking to knows something good, about your past...maybe it was because someone before you, showed that RHS grads are good people.
This Blog is not about bashing the other schools...it is about bringing awareness about why Roosevelt should remain open, if anything renovated or rebuilt...but the last time I checked the only school that has a football stadium is Roosevelt...the only school with a Nice Baseball field is Roosevelt, now west side has a nice b-ball gym but I still like the closeness and intimate setting at the "Panther Den"
This Blog again is not about bashing the other schools...I mean, I never knew respecting and being pround of the school that you attended for 4 years(hopefully only 4) and grew to know such great people from the past and the present...knowing that your school has blazed the trail before you...with so many people in the Hollywood, Politics, Professional Sports and countless other high ranking positions throughout the world...I mean do people belittle graduates of say Harvard or Yale...well ...ok you don't have to answer that? I already know the answer.
But really what is your favorite memory of Gary Roosevelt? and what year did your graduate.
Be sure to bookmark this page as I will be posting pictures and trying to follow the info from the meeting and all that is going on with the school closing.
